Silk Flatlined c. 1770 Judith Stays
Silk Flatlined c. 1770 Judith Stays
Our 18th c. stays, customized to your colors and fabric choices. Select from our in-stock fabrics or shop custom colors for no extra charge. We can also construct using your own fabrics (email us for details).
To achieve this look, we do a process called “flatlining”. This uses a beautiful fabric on the outside and combines it with an inner layer of our sturdy cotton coutil inside. With this two layer process we are able to achieve a gorgeous looking corset with the strength and structure of a heavy duty corset inside.
The Judith achieves the conical shape required in this period using 1/2" steel bones and horizontal boning across the bust. There is little shaping under the bust, and the bust is pushed up to a higher position. This style has shoulder straps attached with adjustable front lacing. Also available with tabs.
